Μαριάννα Ναθαναήλ
Marianna Nathanail is the Head of the European Investment Bank Group (EIBG) Office in Greece, where she leads the Bank’s engagement with EU institutions, national and local authorities, the private sector, and academia in Greece and Cyprus. Her work focuses on advancing the EIB’s strategic priorities, including sustainable investment, energy transition, climate resilience, innovation, female entrepreneurship, and social impact.
With over 25 years of experience in banking, finance, and law, Marianna has held senior roles at the EIB’s Luxembourg headquarters in Capital Markets and Risk Management, contributing to key Group policies on market conduct, regulatory compliance, sustainable finance and corporate governance.
Before joining the EIB, she served at the European Commission (DG FISMA and DG Internal Market), representing the Commission in legislative negotiations with the European Parliament and the Council. She has also worked as Legal Advisor to the Hellenic Capital Markets Commission and as Legal Counsel to major international and Greek corporations in the energy, construction, and shipping sectors.
Marianna holds a Law degree from the University of Athens, an LL.M in Shipping Law, and an MSc in Banking and Finance.
